‘Narrative collapse’? All of us literally heard Donald Trump on tape saying what he said to Raffensperger, regardless of the Washington Post’s inaccurate quotes. But ‘don’t believe your own eyes or ears’ is part of the Trumpian/Orwellian agenda....

I think "find the fraud" retraction is a different phone call to the Raffensperger one

YES, there were 2 calls. The one that WAPO misquoted was a call with the lead Georgia investigator. There should have never been 1 call, let alone 2.

In fairness, Trump denied it was him on the Access Hollywood Tape after he apologized for what he said on the @AccessHollywoodtape, so there’s that!

Didn't the Washinton Post just rely on a witness account prior to having the actual audio? I mean, Lordy, there are tapes.

Doesn't change what Trump did, but American media is far too often its own worst enemy. They rely far too heavily on confidential sources. In Canadian media, you rarely see stories based on confidential sources, government or otherwise. We make mistakes, but not near as many.

Also, the Washington Post didn't "invent" anything. It trusted a faulty source.

WHAT??? The Post made up some of the quotes? I get it, newspapers have biases, but to make up quotes? I hope that reporter and editor who allowed it are fired!!!

Inaccurate quotes? Ones that were confirmed by other establishment media outlets? This is why there is so much distrust for the media, on both sides.
